I am passionate about supporting others towards a path of healing, recovery, and completeness. I value the therapeutic presence coming from a place of compassion so individuals can share their stories. In my previous careers, I have worked with children and families towards a path of reunification and preservation.
“There is beauty and power in unity. We must be united in heart and mind.” – Lailah Gifty Akita
A grieving heart is what moved me to become certified in The Grief Recovery Method. We may experience grief and loss in life and as a Grief Recovery Specialist, I look forward to journeying with you to complete your relationships and losses in your life. There is much beauty to be found in the freedom from pain, isolation and emotional losses you may have endured within your life. In walking and healing through this transformative method myself, intuitively I understood that I didn’t need my broken heart to be fixed. What I needed was a listening ear and tangible action steps to heal from my own losses. As someone whose heart has been transformed through this life changing method, I am confident there is also hope for you. I look forward to walking through the Grief Recovery Method with you and guiding you through this transformational method.
I believe in an eclectic approach to therapy as we all have different needs. I believe that providing a compassionate, client-centered therapeutic space for clients is one of the most important aspects of the counselling journey. Life is all about the journey and I am honored to walk with you in your healing journey. In sessions, I focus on maintaining factors associated with ones’ distress. I believe that people heal by learning new and adaptive ways of thinking while developing new skills in order to navigate life’s challenges. I may bring mindfulness and self-compassion techniques into sessions, as I believe this is a valuable way to emotionally self-regulate. I am a certified Grief Recovery Specialist and have training in Acceptance and Commitment Based Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and Introduction to the Hakomi Method of Somatic Psychotherapy.
I love going to the mountains to hike while spending time with family and friends. Although, a beach is always one of my go-to vacations.
I love being active working out, running, and have started golfing the past couple of summers.
I love animals and have a cat that I love dearly.
