I started my career with children and youth in 2011 as a Child Development Supervisor working in summer camps, out of school care and daycares. I held roles as a front line staff, support staff for children with disabilities, assistant director and director of out of school care and daycare facilities. In the 6 years I spent in the childcare field I noticed I was drawn to supporting children who were neurodivergent or experienced difficulties in emotion regulation. I decided to go back to school in 2018 to be more equipped to help support children and youth with mental health concerns and received my Masters in Counselling Psychology in 2021.
Since becoming a provisional psychologist in 2022 I have primarily worked with children and youth in both the school and foster care systems as well as in private practice.
Additionally, I have served adult clients with concerns related to anxiety, depression, substance abuse, self-harm and domestic violence.
I believe everyone has a story and simply needs someone to meet them where they are at and to walk along side them. Through the use of solution focused, play therapy and narrative therapy techniques I am able to work collaboratively with clients to examine, identify and gain various perspectives on areas of their life they would like to improve and create opportunities for this to happen.
