Joel Pukalo is a registered psychologist who is passionate about helping people thrive—in their personal lives, their work, and their communities. As a consultant, educator, and community builder, Joel blends evidence-informed insight with real-world practicality to help individuals and teams create meaningful, lasting change. His work is rooted in holistic wellness, authentic leadership, and building legacies that go beyond “success” to create lasting impact.
Joel brings evidence-informed psychology into counselling, consulting, and leadership training with a structured, practical style built for implementation. His frameworks turn insight into clear decision tools that improve rhythm, alignment, and connection.
Joel provides counselling services for individuals seeking steadier confidence, emotional clarity, healthier rhythms, and stronger daily functioning. He provides consulting for leaders, teams, and organizations focused on sustainable performance, stronger connection, and cultures that reduce burnout risk and support consistent execution. The Life Battery Assessment is often used as a starting point, offering a realistic snapshot of capacity with next-step adjustments that fit the current season.
Joel works comfortably in faith-informed environments when aligned with client context and values, while maintaining a values-respectful and psychologically grounded approach across corporate settings. He is a husband and father who believes leadership begins at home and extends outward into work and community life.
Joel is deeply committed to community impact. He regularly donates time to develop pro bono mental health tools and practical guides for nonprofit leaders and teams. He also collaborates with other nonprofit leaders to strengthen connection, share usable supports, and build healthier, more sustainable community cultures—especially in high-demand, frontline-serving roles.
My dream job is an NFL coach. Coaching sports was my first taste in helping others that inspired me to pursue a career as a Psychologist.
I grew up on a farm outside of Spruce Grove, and I’m actively involved in supporting my brother on our family farm Century Simmentals.
My parents were both teachers, and my first career was also in teaching. I thoroughly enjoy working as a psychologist in schools and teaching my children at home.
