Mitch holds a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and works as a professional counsellor. He takes a practical, individualized, and problem-solving approach to counselling, drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
Mitch primarily works with children and adolescents, drawing on his professional experience as a school counsellor working with children in Grades 1–6. Recognizing that traditional talk therapy isn’t always the best fit for younger clients, he uses age-appropriate conversation, play, games, and movement to build rapport and help young people develop practical skills they can use in everyday life. He has experience supporting neurodivergent children, as well as young people navigating anxiety, emotional regulation, grief and loss, trauma, and family transitions such as separation and divorce.
In addition to his work with youth, Mitch supports adults and families facing life transitions, relationship challenges, stress, self-esteem concerns, and feelings of being stuck. Mitch believes that much of our suffering comes from the ways we respond to difficult experiences, emotions, and circumstances. He helps clients better understand the sources of their suffering and develop new ways of relating to themselves and their experiences, with the goal of finding greater peace, acceptance, and freedom in their lives.
